About me (Sobre mi)
Though I contemplated careers in journalism and international business, I knew when I chose education as my career path that I had chosen the career that encompassed all of my passions, language, literature, travel, and teaching. I graduated with a B.S. in Secondary Education with a major in English and minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls. During my time at River Falls, I lived and studied in Seville, Spain and spent some time traveling throughout Europe. After graduation, I began my career teaching English at West Bend East High School. Having grown up in Lake Geneva and Elkhorn, a few years later my husband and I decided to move closer to family. It was that decision that brought me to WUHS in 2000. I first taught English at WUHS, but in 2005 I was given the opportunity to teach a few sections of Spanish. I then taught both English and Spanish for 3 years before being offered the opportunity to teach Spanish full- time. During my years at WUHS I have earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National- Louis University and had 3 beautiful children- Hunter, Katelin, and Addison. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with family and friends, biking, camping , traveling, golfing and watching my children's sporting events. I am always looking for something new and different to help my students learn better. I encourage students to open theirs eyes, minds, and hearts to other cultures and ideas.
